what to do when you want to be just friends with a guy who is flirting with you?
this guy keeps flirting with me but i only want to be friends with him.. my friend says the more I talk to him the more I’m leading him on, but I talk to him because I want to be his friend.

You’re in a tough spot. Any form of the word ‘friend” (i.e. buddy, pal, BFF) from a woman’s mouth is a dirty, dirty word to us guys. Your friends make an interesting point. Talking to him isn’t necessarily leading him on, per se, but the more and more he around you, the more interested he becomes.
My suggestion is this: If you want to be friends with him, act like a friend. Don’t do or say anything that can be interpreted ambiguously. No “That’s what she said” jokes. No touching. No anything. If he says or does anything that can be perceived as an attempt to get with you, don’t respond to them. He’ll pick up on it and either adjust or drift away.
If he musters up the courage to tell you how he feels, then tell him the truth–the complete truth. Tell him you only see him as a friend and you can never see you two together. Saying things like “friends for now” or “We’ll see” will just make it worse.
